" Camaro introduced to market in February 1970, the second-generation Chevrolet Camaro would be in production 12 years. This generation's styling, inspired in part by Jaguar, Aston Martin, and Ferrari, was longer, lower, and wider than the first generation Camaro.
Only minor appearance changes highlighted the 1976 Camaro, most notably a brushed metal insert in the rear tail section on the LT model. The 250 cubic-inch six-cylinder remained the standard engine in the sport coupe and a new 140-horsepower 305 cubic-inch V8 became the standard engine in the LT and base V8 option in the sport coupe. The larger 350 cubic-inch V8 was now only available with a four-barrel carburetor and 165 horsepower. Power brakes became standard on V8 models this year. The Camaro's popularity was soaring. The Spirit of St. Louis (also known as the Ryan NYP-1) is a single-engine plane that was successfully flown by Charles Lindbergh as a solo non-stop transatlantic flight. The main external features of the craft were its lack of front windshield, and its wings, which were extremely long compared to its body.
The aircraft took off from New York's Long Island and flew 5,810km to Paris. The journey took 33 hours, 29 minutes and 29.8 seconds, which was regarded as quite fast at the time. It was the first solo, non-stop flight to travel this route.

The VF-1 was preceded into production by an aerodynamic proving version of its airframe, the VF-X. After the VF-X's testing was finished, an advanced-concept prototype, the VF-0, was flight-tested from 2005 to 2007 and briefly served as an active-duty fighter from 2007 to the VF-1's rollout in late 2008, while the bugs were being worked out of the full-up VF-1 prototype (VF-X-1). The VF-1's combat debut was 7 February 2009, during the Battle of South Ataria Island, the first battle of Space War I.
